| Hello!
I'm Lonnie Sewell. I've been in the auctioneer business since 1978. My
wife, Earlene, and I own a family farm in Mooresvile, Missouri, where we
have raised two sons, Quinn and Shawn. Ann Buswell is our
Secretary/Agent in our office and at our consignment
auctions.
In
1998, I was elected president of the Missouri
Professional Auctioneers Association (MPAA). I had previously served
as a
board member, vice president, and president-elect of the
association. The MPAA is Missouri's only auctioneer association and has
over 300 members. The primary goal of the organization is to educate its
members on new techniques of marketing their sellers' merchandise.
Sewell
Auction Service specializes in conducting large farm machinery and real
estate auctions and have been selling auctions in
north central Missouri, as well as Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, for
20 years. We actively participate in and support the Chillicothe
community and surrounding areas, often donating time and services for
worthwhile causes and fundraising events, such as the Chamber banquet
and auction event held January 20, 2005, pictured at right (Lonnie is
second from left on the stage), the Central Missouri Whitetails
Unlimited banquet and auctions, the Missouri State Highway Patrol Cpl.
Todd Zacher benefit, and many more.
Our
company, Sewell Agency, is a member of the Chillicothe
Area Chamber of Commerce. Here are some other highlights of my
career...
- Lonnie
Sewell, 1998-99 Missouri Professional Auctioneers President
- Lonnie Sewell, 1990-91 North
Central Board of Realtors President

- Member in good standing of
the following organizations:
MPAA: Missouri Professional
Auctioneers Association
CAI: Certified Auctioneers
Institute award
AARE: Accredited Auctioneer of
Real Estate
AMI: Auctioneers Marketing
Institute
CAGA: Certified Appraisers
Guild of America
NAA: National Auctioneers
Association.
A
familiar site at the Sewell Auction Service auctions is our portable
auctioneering stand. Our loudspeaker system makes it easy for everyone
to hear the latest bids and see me while I'm auctioneering.
In 1997, we purchased
the former Rafter "C" Arena located seven miles west of
Chillicothe, Missouri, on Highway 36. This is
the location where we host our consignment auctions. With a large indoor
arena and concession stand, we offer a great venue for your auction item
sales! Michelle Sewell and Lisa Anderson now run our kitchen at the
Rafter "C" - The Chuckwagon - so you'll have an
opportunity to eat and rest a spell throughout the day.
If you are planning
on hosting an auction, please contact
us. If you are interested in receiving email updates to let you know
when upcoming auctions are being held, please sign
up on our web site. We will be sure to let you know what's happening
at Sewell Auction Service!

On a cold day, the most important people are the food servers with hot coffee (and free chili as long as it lasted).
Thanks to Ethel, Dorothy & Bethany. LuAnna kept the food queue in order and
collected the money before visitors could get away. She made good coffee as well!
